Grief Workshops

Realizing that you are not alone is a helpful step in your journey of healing from the loss of a loved one. Coming together and sharing your sacred stories with those who know firsthand the pain of loss, can give you the hope and strength you need to face each day. As a small group facilitator, I offer weekend grief support workshops for funeral homes, churches, and community associations. They begin on a Friday evening and continue on through Saturday. Times are flexible based on your organization. I also conduct evening support circles that run for a duration of two hours once a week for six weeks.

Weekend grief support workshops are topic specific. Some topics include:

  • Widows & Widowers: Half of me is missing
  • Suicide Loss: Why?
  • Death Too Soon: Loss due to miscarriage or stillbirth
  • Loss of Dreams: Death of a child
  • Orphaned: Death of a parent
  • Death Conflict Resolution for Couples: How women & men grieve differently

Some of the topics covered during the weekly support circles are:

  • Am I Going Crazy?
  • My Family - Our Loss: How family members grieve the same loss differently
  • I'm So Angry, I Could Just...!
  • A New Identity: Who am I now?
  • Rituals: A help or a hindrance?
  • Living Beyond the Loss: How to live again and not feel guilty

All sessions are tailored to suit your organization. So for example, if you are participating as a church family, your sessions would be faith based if that is what you requested. If organized religion is not part of your tradition, your sessions would be without that component. These sessions are yours - let's talk about how we can make them work for you and your organization.
